Ahead of its time since 1972, the Transamerica Pyramid is San Francisco’s most iconic building. Designed by futurist architect William Pereira, the building is a metaphor for the spirit of a city defined by innovators, artists, and iconoclasts.
As we celebrate its 50th anniversary, SHVO, in collaboration with acclaimed architect Norman Foster will advance Pereira’s vision and legacy by transforming the Transamerica Pyramid into a home for the world’s brightest minds and a vibrant new destination in the heart of San Francisco.
I am honored to be the custodian of the Transamerica Pyramid, and together with the people of San Francisco, I am committed to making this icon more iconic.
